Key Leeds United decision could be taken out of Daniel Farke’s hands – Could be the beginning of the end

Leeds United are under pressure after winning just one of their last five Championship games and are scrambling to save their hopes of earning automatic promotion. Daniel Farke has been urged to make a few changes to his team to get their season back on track, but he might not have the last say on a big decision in the coming days.

The Whites have seven games remaining in the Championship season to save their promotion hopes, and are still just second in the league table.

However, Sheffield United and Burnley have momentum on their side, and it is now clear, Leeds need to find a way to jolt their season into life soon or else they are facing another agonising run in the playoffs.

Several players in the Leeds squad are underperforming, but Illan Meslier has attracted all the headlines because of one more high-profile error on Saturday.

Farke has been urged to bring in Karl Darlow in place of Meslier, but some feel, the decision could be taken out of the manager’s hands.

Other figures at Leeds United may need to intervene – Journalist

Farke has been defending Meslier all season despite several high-profile errors, which have led to the Whites losing precious Championship points.

However, supporters have run out of patience and excuses for the Frenchman, and the Leeds boss could attract ridicule if Meslier starts at Luton on Saturday.

Farke has been urged to learn what the squad think about Meslier, but Michael Normanton feels the situation is untenable, and the decision could be taken out of the manager’s hands.

“I feel like he might have seen enough”, he said on the Square Ball Podcast.

“I feel like it’s at the point where other people maybe intervening as well at this stage, whether it’s his own players or the people on the board.

“Or his coaching staff saying, maybe it is time to make a little change.”

This could be massive for Daniel Farke

The Leeds manager is under pressure, and his decision to keep or drop Meslier in the coming days could end up defining his tenure at Elland Road.

However, if the decision is taken out of his hands, it could be damning indictment of his management and his control over the squad.

But it would not be surprising if someone from the 49ers intervenes as the Americans want the club to be in the Premier League, and they cannot afford to watch a manager feel wary of upsetting an underperforming player.

It could also show that if he takes Leeds to the Premier League, he would need to be more ruthless or face losing his job at Elland Road.

Farke as to take the blame, he’s playing his favourites even when they’re off form, Solomons done nothing for weeks but still plays, he dropped probably the player of the year for Ampadu who’s coming back from injury, why not give him 10 mins as a sub, Meslier cost the team at least 7 points before Saturday but keeps him in, as for subs he leaves it far too late, it’s happening again same as last season, but he won’t change he’s too stubborn.
