La Liga side to swoop for Leeds United star?

Leeds United have had many impressive performers this season but one of them could be subject to interest from Spain.

The likes of Pascal Struijk and Willy Gnonto have proven that they are certainly Premier League quality players but one of the players Marcelo Bielsa signed for the Premier League is now subject to interest from a La Liga club who are said to be monitoring the situation.

Leeds’ defence, after a rocky start, has been in great shape only conceding five goals in the last 11 games with Pascal Struijk and Joe Rodon at the centre of things but the whole defence has been impressive, which is why Daniel Farke has seemingly been intentionally staggering  yellow cards to get bans out the way one at a time.

This week Jayden Bogle will be absent and soon it will likely be Rodon, but first it was Junior Firpo whose absence was keenly felt against Bristol City at Ashton Gate in a 0-0 draw, but Leeds may need to get used to his absence with his former club Real Betis again interested in him and are monitoring his situation ahead of the January Transfer Window according to Leeds United News, and they could even be interested in exploiting his contract situation with a pre-contract agreement.

Leeds United star to turn his back on Premier League return?

Should Firpo return to Spain, it would mean turning away from a potential return to the Premier League which is why he was signed and the ambition he sited when joining Leeds United back in 2021.

“I am really happy, I wanted to be here and I always wanted to play in the Premier League,” Firpo explained.

“This summer for me, there was many clubs interested. But when Victor Orta spoke with me and showed me the project, I said ‘wow, this is interesting, they really want me’.

“In this moment, I said ok I want to go to Leeds. The people said to me that a full Elland Road is incredible. I want to see this.”

So will he decide in favour of a La Liga return over a return to the Premier League?
