Just days after Leeds confirmed their place back in the top flight, rumours emerged about Daniel Farke. The reports claimed that the board were considering sacking Farke, and hiring a new coach to take charge of the team next season. Over the last week, a three-man shortlist for the Leeds job made the rounds in the news. The names linked to the job included Davide Ancelotti, Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Roger Schmidt. All three have extensive experience managing top clubs in Europe’s top leagues.
The 50-year old was asked about the links to Leeds United when he was doing punditry in the Champions League midweek.
He replied: “Yes, I read about it. But there’s nothing going on at the moment.
“Are Leeds a nice club? Definitely.
“I am enjoying life now, but I think it would be nice to be back on the pitch.”
van Bronckhorst has been out of a job since leaving Beskitas in November.
Will Daniel Farke be sacked?
The reports about Farke being sacked have not been confirmed by any major sources. The Leeds boss even mentioned recently that he was not surprised by the news. It would be a baffling decision from the club to sack the manager that was hired to bring Leeds back to the Premier League. There is a very high chance Daniel Farke is still in charge of the club in August.
