While Leeds United may have sealed the deadline day signing of Manchester United winger Dan James, Marcelo Bielsa will be ruing the missed chance of signing Huddersfield Town’s Lewis O’Brien.
Journalist Alan Nixon had claimed that O’Brien had been at the top of Bielsa’s list of targets this ummer, with the Daily Mirror then revealing that Town would sell for £8 million.
But, in response to a question from a fan about whether the Whites would pursue a late move for the midfielder on transfer deadline day, The Athletic’s Phil Hay said on Twitter: “Not a matter of time. They’re not stretching to £8m+ for O’Brien.”
