Saturday’s result for Leeds United was really a tough one to take. Especially since it came in a similar fashion as the loss to Fulham a few weeks ago.
Marco Silva’s side stole a late win in London courtesy of an own goal from Gabriel Gudmundsson. This time around, the three points were snatched away from Daniel Farke’s side courtesy of a late equalizer.
Up until that point, Leeds had control of the game and threated to even add to their lead in the second half. Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola even admitted his side were second best.

On Talksport, Simon Jordan said that Leeds should have won the game and that Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s missed chances cost them the result:
“If he had been a bit more clinical on Saturday, Leeds could have got a result,”
“He missed some sitters, a header. That’s it [should’ve scored inside 20 seconds], that’s my point. Leeds did to Bournemouth, what Bournemouth normally do to Leeds,”
The striker missed two big chances during the game and he could have easily gotten on the scoresheet.
Daniel Farke defends his star striker
However on Saturday, Daniel Farke launched a staunch defence of the former Everton man after the game. To the Leeds boss, Calvert-Lewin was one of the reasons the Whites managed to get a result on the day.
“Normally he scores out of this situation,” said Farke after the game.
“I think again, excellent performance and would have also been there with a Man of the Match performance, standing ovation after the substitution.
“Great workload for the team. Great performance. And on a good day, scores two or three today.
“Sometimes it’s the fate of the striker. Sometimes you score an outstanding goal, like last weekend, from what was perhaps even a bit more difficult chance than the situations today, and for that, and no criticism.
“We’re all just happy that we have him. And if he keeps going like this, and I’m pretty sure he will score many goals.
