Leeds United will be the favorite against Coventry City, and one stat shows how badly the visitors have performed coming into this weekend’s match at Elland Road.
The Sky Blues are near the bottom of the Championship table, and it’s not only the start of this season in which the squad has struggled. This poor form is being carried over from the previous season.
Opta’s Jonny Cooper points out on X that since Coventry City ended Leeds United’s impressive 15-game unbeaten run in the Championship in April, Leeds has struggled, winning just one game and earning only six points—making them the least successful team among all Championship clubs.
Since Coventry City ended Leeds United's 15-game unbeaten run in the Championship in April, they have won the fewest games (1) and points (6) of any ever-present Championship side.
The Championship is a very weird league/could only happen to Leeds. #lufc

The league’s unpredictability shows here, and it will be interesting to see if the Whites take advantage of their opponent’s poor form or stumble at home again.
Leeds defeated Cardiff City on the road, so Daniel Farke and his team showed that his side secured points over opponents at the bottom of the table.
Another stat for Leeds-Coventry
Although Leeds are the favorite against Coventry, they could be without a key player in Pascal Struijk. The Whites are dealing with injuries to their squad, and if they do miss Struijk for this contest, the team’s passing game will be affected.
Cooper also pointed out on X that Struijk has completed 527 passes so far, which is the second-highest for a Championship player after six games. He plays a crucial role in Leeds’ build-up play.
Will be interesting tomorrow to potentially see Leeds without Pascal Struijk. 527 completed passes is the second-most by a Championship player on record after six games. So much of our build-up goes through him. #lufc pic.twitter.com/NzkWGRM6Bi

Even though Leeds are the favorite, Farke isn’t letting Coventry’s position in the table fool them.
“I’m full of respect and I’m pretty sure they will also be one of the competitors in order to finish on the top six,” Farke told Leeds’ official website. “I’m not distracted by perhaps – I wouldn’t label it a poor start – but in terms of a league position, of course, they want to be in a better position.
“But I’m 100 percent sure they will do the same; they develop the squad, and Mark, with his quality, will develop the squad. Then they’ll finish in a really good position, so I expect a difficult game for us.”
