Leeds United shipped out quite a number of players to make space for new signings in the summer. The club did some proper recruitment to bolster the quality in the squad for this campaign.
Close to £100million was spent in this transfer window, with most of the investment going into the defence and the midfield. This meant the likes of Isaac Schmidt and Max Wober, who were not in the club’s plans this season, had to make their way out.
Both players left on loan to Germany.

Max Wober hints at Leeds United future

Wober joined Werder Bremen early in the summer, before Schmidt also made his way to the Bundesliga club. The Austrian has only made one appearance for the club due to injury, but he has already been speaking about his future to Sky Germany.
“Of course, that thought occurred to me.” he said when he was asked about a long term switch to Bremen.
“Pre-season went very well for me; I felt physically fit and had no problems at all with my knee.
“When you then suffer another setback and hear that it’s going to be at least three months off again, it’s quite sobering.”
The defender fell out of favour with Daniel Farke last season, and rarely saw action from January onwards.
Defender recovering from serious injury
The Leeds loanee has been out of action since August, and is yet to return to training. Max Wober shed some light on his journey through rehabilitation and recovery.
“The whole thing happened a week-and-a-half before the cup match in Bielefeld. I got a hamstring injury.
“It caused a structural injury to the muscle. The muscle tore little by little.
“I didn’t really notice it during the game. The next morning, however, came with a major shock – I woke up with a huge lump in my thigh.
“Shortly afterward, I was diagnosed with a torn muscle and a torn muscle bundle.
“Since then, I’ve been fighting to get back as quickly as possible.
“Now it’s all about the muscle growing back, then I can fully tackle rehab.”
