Leeds United will be hoping they can get another huge result at home when they host Thomas Frank’s side visit on Saturday. Fans will be hoping that this game will be much different from when they faced a top four side this season.
When Leeds went away to face Arsenal at the Emirates, they were beaten 5-0. That game exposed a lot of flaws in the team, and Daniel Farke has managed to plug a lot of gaps in recent games.
Since the loss to the Gunners, Leeds have held Newcastle to a draw and beaten Wolves. Daniel Farke’s side could have beaten Bournemouth last week, but ended up drawing after a late goal.

Spurs’ poor record after midweek European games

Leeds host Spurs at Elland Road this weekend, Thomas Frank’s side have not had the best of results in their last two games. However, Tottenham’s form after midweek European games could give the Whites an advantage going into Saturday’s game.
When Ange Postecoglou was in charge last season, Spurs were involved in 15 midweek European games. 12 times out of these 15 games, they dropped points the following weekend. Even though they won the Europa League last season, it came at a cost – Spurs finished in 17th place.
This season under Thomas Frank, they dropped points after beating Villarreal in their first Champions League game of the season. Spurs drew with Bodo/Glimt this week and face Leeds on Saturday – hopefully the trend repeats itself.
Thomas Frank thinks poor form is good ahead of Leeds United game
Even though his side have dropped points to late goals in their last two games, Thomas Frank sees it as a huge positive for upcoming matches.
“The positive is I think the mentality and the character of the players was very good,” he said.
“[We] Stayed in the game. Kept fighting and that gave us a very good point away from home.
“When you’re 2-0 down in a Champions League game, and especially against a Bodo team that are very good here, then you need to be happy with that.
“I’m happy that we again got back into the game, I think that’s very positive. I think until 2-0 it’s fair to say, and especially in the first half, Bodo was better than us.
“It’s extremely important that we got back from 2-0 down against Brighton, we got back against Wolves and we got back again today.”
