Leeds United already having doubts about Javi Gracia – Reports

According to a report from iNews UK, sources within the club feel like Javi Gracia is not the man for the job.

Leeds sacked Jesse Marsch over a month ago, bringing his time to the club to an end. Marsch lasted at Leeds for just over a year, saving the club at the end of last season. After a poor run of games where Leeds had just two wins in 17 games, the club decided to relieve him from his duties.

Javi Gracia was appointed till the end of the season, the manager won his first game in charge but was unable to beat Chelsea last weekend. Now, reports from club sources claim that the Spaniard is not the right fit for the team in the long term.

There are doubts that Gracia can use the players Jesse Marsch recruited to avoid relegation. Their view is that both managers have contrasting styles so there may be a disconnect. This is what Mark Douglas of iNews reported from his sources:

“The feeling among recruitment sources spoken to by i, though, is that while Leeds have bought well they haven’t had the right man to lead them.

“And many are dubious about whether Javi Gracia, appointed at the end of a tortuous search in which Leeds were turned down by all of their preferred candidates, is the man to draw the best out of a squad assembled to play high-octane, front foot, pressing football.”

Javi Gracia has 13 games remaining to secure Leeds United’s Premier League safety.
