Although Leeds United have had a rollercoaster ride to start the 2024-25 Championship season, there are many positives. One of them is how they have performed away from Elland Road, as one factoid shows.
This past weekend, the Whites went on the road to face Cardiff City, who are desperate for points after their slow start. Nonetheless, Daniel Farke and his team received an edge after the Bluebirds went down to 10 men.
Largie Ramazani scored in the 30th minute to give the away side a 1-0 lead, and in the 87th minute, substitute Joël Piroe found the back of the net, securing an important insurance goal.
Despite the criticism over how Leeds played with the man advantage, a win is a win as the squad left Wales with all three points. Moreover, the win also extended an impressive run that only a few teams in the Championship can claim.

If the Whites want to continue this impressive run on the road, they’ll need to improve their attack. Despite playing against a 10 men Cardiff City, the visitors didn’t take advantage of their scoring chances and that has manager Daniel Farke concerned.
“So, our conversion rate, our effectiveness in using the chances, was again [on Saturday] more or less the only thing I could criticise,” Farke told Leeds’ official website. “There is no doubt about this and we will keep going on addressing it because we have to improve this. But apart from that, it was a really, really good away performance and definitely also well deserved.”
If Leeds earn promotion to the Premier League, a major part of that push could come from how they’re playing on the road. Farke and his team need to find a way to improve their home performance, though, because they’ll need to have solid performances away and at home if they want to finish in the top two positions.
