Leeds ‘know’ star will leave amidst £100 million claim

Kalvin Phillips will “definitely” leave Leeds United and join a Champions League club within the next few years.

That is the view of ex-Aston Villa and England forward Gabby Agbonlahor, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Phillips’ situation.

Agbonlahor claimed he will be “hungry” to play in the Champions League as the vast majority of his Three Lions teammate do.

Leeds chief Angus Kinnear revealed in his programme notes on 23rd August that the Yorkshire giants had “vigorously resisted” over £100million of interest in their players during the transfer window.

And while Leeds were able to resist this summer, Agbonlahor claimed the club “know” they will have to sell Phillips eventually.

He told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “For me, Kalvin Phillips will be hungry,”

“He will want to play Champions League football like his England teammates.

“It’s a matter of time, to be honest. Leeds will know that it’s only a matter of time they can keep him at the club.

“Eventually, soon, over the next couple of years, he will leave and go to a Champions League club, for sure.”
