“I’m worried Leeds have lost too many players to challenge for automatic promotion” – Leeds United legend

Gordon Strachan talks about Leeds United and promotion

Leeds United legend Gordon Strachan recently talked about the club in an interview with TopOffShoreCasinos.com. The former Scottish footballer talked about United’s promotion chances this season and also regarding other aspects of the club.

About promotion, Gordon was worried citing the loss of many talented players to be the key. He feels that direct promotion will be a challenge as the club has faced many high-profile departures.

Strachan believes that direct promotion might be off the cards following the departure of players like Crysencio Summerville and Archie Gray.

He also said that finishing in the top 6 will be a good season for The West Yorkshire outfit. The Dundee Technical Director cited the same reasons for his claims.

“If they can finish in the top six, then I think that would be a good season for Leeds.”

However, all isn’t lost yet as Gordon said that there’ll be some consolidating to do before the club can challenge for a direct promotion. He also agreed that Leeds have been in quite a form lately following their win in pre-season against Valencia.

“The club needs to deal with the higher earners and move some of them on. Anyone that isn’t prepared to roll up their sleeves and fight for a season in the Championship needs to be shown the door.”

“I never watched the game, but my friend was at the game on Saturday when Leeds played Valencia, and he said they were terrific.”

As mentioned, Gordon thinks the club needs to have committed players. United needs to keep players who can contribute and get rid of players who are only there for the fat paychecks.

“It’s essential that they move out the guys on the big wages that don’t want to be there or who they simply can’t afford. You can’t have passengers in the Championship.”

The former footballer was also asked about his thoughts on Daniel Farke. He was asked whether it would be an all-or-nothing promotion or sacking situation for the German.

“No, no, I don’t think its promotion or bust for Daniel Farke this season. He’s got pedigree in the Championship in terms of getting teams promoted.”

The Scotsman backed the manager stating that Farke has got what it takes to help clubs get promoted. The German manager has proved his mettle with Norwich City already as he helped them to promotion twice.

Love you to bits Gordon. A true Leeds legend. But don’t get ruining it all by showing that you are losing your marbles a little heh?
