Things are looking bleak for Leeds United as their relegation rivals managed to gain some ground this week. Now, there is a bit of panic around Elland Road heading into the end of the season.
Leeds had the chance to secure their position above the relegation zone midweek, they played before both Nottingham Forest and West Ham United. Unfortunately for the Whites, they slipped up in both games and managed to fail to win any of them. With Forest and West Ham getting positives results, the race for survival at the end of the season will only become more difficult.
After going on a great run to start the year, things are not looking bright for Daniel Farke’s men; but they still have nine games to go to decide if they will have another season in the top flight.
Former Premier League star makes honest Leeds United admission
Robbie Earle and Robbie Mustoe have been discussing Leeds United and their chances of beating the drop. Mustoe argues that the Whites have slid back into the relegation battle, while Earle thinks two good results will be enough to save their season.
“Leeds aren’t out of it (relegation battle)” Former Premier League star Robbie Mustoe said.
“Leeds need two results to keep them up.” Robbie Earle replied.
Then they both agreed on how many points could guarantee Leeds’ safety: “They should be able to do that, but the others might need three. If you get around 36, 37 points, you should be safe,”

Fixture list is not looking great for the Whites
Losing two games in a row this past week was not only disappointing and demoralizing. It meant that the club basically have no cushion left as the season progresses. If Leeds United managed even a point from the last two games, it would have given them the chance to stand on something ahead of their next few games.

Just before the international break, Leeds face Crystal Palace and Brentford, two sides who have been in okay form in the last couple of weeks. Beating them will be very difficult considering Daniel Farke’s men are coming off the back of a disappointing week. The team now have to pick themselves up and hope they can get enough points on the board to give them something to hold on to before the final stretch of games.
