Leeds could pip PSG to World Cup star – Fabrizio Romano reports

Journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Leeds could snatch World Cup star Azzedine Ounahi this January.

The Whites are said to have a strong interest in the Moroccan midfielder, with Victor Orta even singing his praises during the World Cup. Leeds are not alone, some of the biggest clubs from across Europe including Napoli, Leicester City and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested.

Fabrizio Romano claims that PSG will not make a move for the 22-year old, leaving the door open for Leeds:

“What I can guarantee, from what I told, is that Ounahi will not go to PSG – 100%. I’m told that PSG are not going to invest on this kind of player.” he said speaking on the House of Champions YouTube channel.

“I think there is a chance for him to move to a different league because Leeds are interested. This is true. Let’s see how the conversations will go with Angers.”

Leeds are ready to match any bids

According to Ciro Venerato, a journalist for RAI, Leeds are ready to match any bids Angers receive:

“The problem is Angers who are asking for €25m (£22m). Napoli are offering €15m (£13m) including bonuses. Leipzig, Leicester and Leeds are ready to offer more money.”

Ounahi currently plays for Angers in Ligue 1, and is reported to be valued around £22M. With the French club currently battling relegation, they may be willing to cash in on the Moroccan.
