With Leeds United set to miss out on Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, they’ll have to shift their focus to others. A Crysencio Summerville replacement is required this summer as the loss was visible in The 49ers’ 3-3 draw against Portsmouth.

The Dutchman’s absence was felt on the opening day of the Championship. With plenty of chances to seal the game, United failed to do so as the club lacked prolific goalscorers.

Leeds missed out on Jesurun Rak-Sakyi following a failed attempt to sign him permanently. Crystal Palace was only willing to let him go for a loan this summer.

The West Yorkshire outfit jinxed up following a Ā£15 million bid hoping to get the Englishman on a permanent. Now, Jesurun is moving to Bramall Lane on a loan for the upcoming season.

Following this blunder, Leeds United will likely shift their focus to Jonathan Rowe. The 49ers have been interested in the winger for a very long time.

There have been talks with the player’s representatives about a potential move too. Following the rumours, Rowe also decided to miss out on Norwich’s Championship opener.

Marseille was known to be the front-runner in the race for Jonathan. But now according to Lā€™Equipe, the French giants are set to withdraw from the deal.

Reports suggest that Les Olympiens’ decision to withdraw is because they have already committed Ā£50 million on transfers this window. The club made an opening bid of Ā£10.3 million which was rejected.

Norwich City is asking for a minimum fee of Ā£15 million which is too much as there is only a year left on the player’s contract. Following their budget constraints, the club will probably withdraw closing the window with high-profile signings like Mason Greenwood.

This is a great opportunity for Leeds United. The England U21 international was always their priority for the summer. As Marseille were closing in on a deal for the youngster, The 49ers jumped to Rak-Sakyi.

Now that Jesurun is off the market, Jonathan might be just within reach for the club. The West Yorkshire outfit was already preparing for a new deal but with Marseille’s exit things will be easier now.

There have been no other bids for the youngster but there is interest. As there were two bids before, The Canaries could use both clubs to leverage the deal.

With that option gone, United could get Norwich down to the price where Rowe is worth it.
