According to LeedsLive, Leeds United have rejected a bid from Everton for Wilfried Gnonto.
Gnonto was one of Leeds’ bright sparks in an abysmal season that saw the club get relegated to the English Championship. The forward scored two goals and provided four assists in the Premier League this season. Earlier this summer he had been a target of both Aston Villa and Everton, with the Toffee’s having their latest offer rejected.
49ers Enterprises are determined to keep the player, who they view as one of the faces of their new project at Elland Road. The club have slapped a £40million price tag on him to deter any potential suitors, with foreign clubs like Inter Milan and Juventus lurking.
The 19-year old joined the club in September and has five years remaining on his current deal.
