Ezgjan Alioski left Leeds this week. After making over 150 appearances for the West Yorkshire giants and playing a part in the Whites promotion in 2020, he has been let go owing to the fact he was unable to agree a new deal with the club but the outgoings may not end there as another of Leeds’ promotion heroes looks set for pastures new.
Kiko Casilla joined Leeds in 2019 as Marcelo Bielsa looked to address the stability in goal that had stifled their hunt for promotion. However, it would be an error from Casilla in the play-off semi-final defeat to Derby that denied the Whites their place in the Premier League.
Last season he looked to make amends and made 36 appearances for Leeds as they secured promotion. However, a racism charge and the arrival of superb youngster Illan Meslier has derailed his career and he seems set to return to Spain.
According to information shared by his agent to LUFC FANZONE, the former Real Madrid man will fly to Spain to secure a new club.
Last season he made only three league appearances alongside a disastrous showing in the FA Cup defeat to Crawley so Leeds fans may not be as sombre about his departure as they were about Alioski’s.
