After their win against Newcastle on Monday night, Leeds United find themselves in the top four of the Premier League. This start to the campaign is much better than last year.

Last season, the Whites won just one of their first four games.

This time around, Daniel Farke’s men have won eight points from a possible 12. And the fixtures have not been easy; Leeds have faced Nottingham Forest, Brighton, Brentford and Newcastle United.

The club spent this summer upgrading the first team, and they have done a great job with that.

James Trafford, Tarik Muharemovic and Nico Elvedi have hit the ground running so far while the likes of Harry Wilson have showed flashes.

With how well Leeds United are playing this season, many fans have high expectations of them. Simon Jordan recently said on talkSPORT that he is tipping the Whites to qualify for Europe.

But with just four games into the new season, it is a huge leap to suggest that.

In a recent interview with LUTV, Noah Okafor has been speaking about the club’s start to the season. When he was asked about his thoughts on Leeds currently being third in the league, he had this to say.

“Of course the fans can enjoy this.

“We worked hard for this, it’s a big compliment, but it’s too early to say.

“We just have to keep the ball grounded, keep working hard and take game by game moving forward and then work to be even better in the next games.”

Up next for Daniel Farke’s side is a game against Crystal Palace this weekend.

Fans have every right to be optimistic about the team this year

Last year, the Whites took time to gel and get into gear which came very late in the season.

And their turnaround saw them win a lot of points on their way to finishing in 14th place and avoiding relegation.

Leeds have managed to keep most of the team together, and have added some serious quality. Bringing in the likes of Trafford, Muharemovic and Wilson sees the team in a better place than last year.

This has shown in the results early in the season.

With Daniel Farke still in charge, and the home form continuing to be a huge factor, there is no reason why the fanbase cannot aim higher this year.
