Leeds United have had an incredible season under Daniel Farke this year. Even though the start to the campaign was not the smoothest, the team have bounced back on more than one occasion.
What can be seen as a huge achievement for the team is that they have rarely slipped into the bottom three since the start of the season. And that is very impressive considering the teams that have been relegated with three games to go. Farke was tipped to be sacked before the season began, and was even on the brink of being fired in November. But what he has done with this squad is remarkable, and they can clinch safety in the next week.
Leeds United star praises Daniel Farke for his influence this season
It was confirmed over a month ago that negotiations between Farke and the club will be halted until the end of the season. The German’s deal expires in 2027, and his stay at the club will be discussed. Noah Okafor has been speaking this week about his time at Leeds United, and has given a sterling review of the German coach.
“For me, he is a top coach and a top guy,” Okafor told BBC Radio Leeds.
“He knows exactly what he wants from the players – that’s why I feel so comfortable.
“He has given me a little bit of freedom in front to move a little bit how I feel and I think he knows this. I try to always give everything for him, for the team and the fans.
“He is a really good coach. I need this freedom to perform at the highest level and that is what I’m doing now.”

49ers have to renew his contract
Looking at the job Daniel Farke has done so far this season, it will be criminal if he does not get an extension. The German has done a fantastic job with the club since he took over – one that many coaches around the country would have failed at the first hurdle. Surviving the Premier League has now become increasingly difficult, but it looks like Leeds have navigated it. Come this summer, the 49ers have a simple decision to make, give Daniel Farke an extension and back him heading into the next season, as he is the right man for the job at Elland Road.
