Journalist Phil Hay reports that Leeds are looking to add a striker and a left back in January.
Victor Orta and Jesse Marsch are set to have a very busy winter window, as the club are reportedly looking to add two new players. Left back has been a problem area for Leeds this season with the fitness issues of Junior Firpo. The striking position also lacks depth outside Bamford and Rodrigo. Phil Hay suggests that Leeds will address these two positions soon.
One name that Hay has hinted to is Kai Wagner. The Philadelphia Union left back has been linked with a move to Leeds since the summer. Journalist Ben Jacobs stated that Marsch was pushing to sign him, but the deal fell through.
Leeds spent on the left back area, brining in Junior Firpo for a reported 15 million euros. The move has not quite worked out, with the 25-year old having played just 25 games since 2021. Wagner impressed at Philadelphia Union this season, providing nine assists.
Marsch has faith in Firpo as a result of his terrible performances and unreliability this season. Struijk has deputised well at left back, but a signing like Wagner would be ideal. Up top, Rodrigo plays as the striker due to Patrick Bamford’s ongoing injuries and poor form, and addition in that department would also be necessary.
