The Whites are ramping up their efforts to sign a new goalkeeper in the ongoing transfer window, and Zion Suzuki has emerged as one of their top targets.
Leeds have been in talks with Parma over working out a deal to take the Japan goalkeeper to Elland Road as part of their plans this summer.
According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, the club are now working on tabling an official bid for the Parma goalkeeper in the coming days.
Leeds are growing confident of a deal and are set to put in an official offer for Parma to sign Suzuki imminently.
The Whites have also prepared a five-year deal for Suzuki and do not expect agreeing personal terms to be a major hurdle once a deal is finalised with Parma.
The Italian club are aware of Suzuki’s demand this summer and want at least £26m from his sale.
It remains to be seen whether Leeds’ first offer manages to convince Parma to sell the World Cup goalkeeper in the ongoing window.
Lucas Perri is likely to be sold
Lucas Perri lost his place in the team midway through last season, and became the club’s cup goalkeeper in the latter half of the campaign.
With Darlow likely to sign a new contract, the arrival of a new goalkeeper is expected to lead to Perri’s departure in the ongoing transfer window.
Leeds are open to offers for the Brazilian goalkeeper, and are ready to move him on once a new goalkeeper is brought in this summer.
