“Leeds trust Wilfried Gnonto for present and future” – Fabrizio Romano

Journalist Fabrizio Romano believes Leeds United are confident of Wilfried Gnonto staying at Elland Road this summer.

The 19-year old has had a breakout year in just his first season in England. He announced himself to the Leeds faithful in a brilliant performance against Liverpool earlier this season.

The Italian international returned from an injury scare to make the matchday squad to face Nottingham Forest midweek, and will be optimistic to feature more going forward.

Juventus, Chelsea, and Arsenal are all also said to be keen on the player and could tempt Leeds United with an offer this summer. Juventus, were reportedly looking to offer Weston McKennie for any future deals involving Gnonto. Fabrizio Romano insists that The Whites are confident on the Italian’s future at Elland Road:

“I’m sure Leeds trust Wilfried Gnonto for present and future, despite some recent speculation over his future.

“Of course the coach situation will be crucial to understand what’s next for Gnonto, but the club and board 100% trust him.”

Gnonto has two goals and three assists in the Premier League this season.
