According to The Liverpool Echo, Leeds are determined to keep Wilfried Gnonto as they can afford his wages.
The Italian has been in the topic of interest this summer, for a number of teams. Sport Italia claimed that Leeds had accepted an £18.8m offer from Everton for Gnonto, but the report was debunked. Everton, Aston Villa and Inter Milan all remain interested in the Italian.
Gnonto returns to Leeds training next week after being granted extended break after featuring in the U21 EURO championship this summer.
The report from The Echo says Leeds are under no pressure to sell the 19-year old:
“Leeds are – on the surface – resistant to a move. The cards are stacked in the club’s favour as far as decision-makers are concerned. Sources close to Leeds say he is on an affordable wage despite relegation.”
