Leeds United ‘a big game’ for Erol Bulut’s future, claims former Cardiff City star

Former Cardiff City defender Steven Caulker has indicated that the Leeds United game on Saturday could be make-or-break for Erol Bulut if he wants to save his job.

Bulut is fighting to save his job at the Cardiff City Stadium after the Bluebirds made the worst start to a season in 35 years.

Cardiff have picked up just one point from their opening five league games and it seemed earlier this week that the 49-year-old could get sacked even before the game against Leeds on Saturday.

Daniel Farke’s future at Leeds has also been under the scanner but Bulut seems to be on the brink ahead of the two sides squaring off against each other in Wales this weekend.

Former Cardiff defender indicates that the Leeds United game could be Bulut’s nadir

Both teams are going into the game under pressure but Bulut might not live to fight another day if Cardiff suffer another defeat at home on Saturday.

Caulker pointed out that Cardiff owner Vincent Tan always reacts to adversity and won’t shy away from wielding the axe if things turn sour on Saturday.

The former defender believes the next two games could decide Bulut’s fate but indicated that the Leeds United game could be more pivotal if he is to save his hob.

“Vincent Tan, we know he likes to react to things and is not shy of making a change, so we know that he will be certainly following the situation very closely and I think this weekend will be a big game”, the former defender told BBC Radio Wales Breakfast.

“If they fail to get the result and then leading into Hull City, who are also struggling, away next week, I think within the next two games we’ll know.

“He’ll either get the result and it will be Erol until the end of the season or unfortunately things may turn a little sour for him.”
