Leeds United get major boost as relegation rivals will be without key players in upcoming clash. Brighton will miss out on the services of as many as six players.

Leeds United are currently flying high after their victory over relegation rivals West Ham United. It was their second win at home after beating Everton in the season opener.

And now injury update coming from their next rivals will bring cheers to the 49ers faithful.

Advantage Leeds United in Brighton clash

Leeds will be travelling to the American Express Stadium on Saturday. The Seagulls have been phenomenal at home this season. In their four games, they have won twice and drawn as many times.

While Manchester City and Newcastle United both succumbed to narrow 2-1 defeats, Tottenham and Fulham were able to carry back a point home. It has been a tough trip for teams from the North so far to the coastal town.

the Whites are 15th on 11 points, the Seagulls are a point ahead on 13th. While the away side will look to carry forward their momentum, Brighton will be coming from a tough loss against Manchester United.

Arsenal too await them in a midweek EFL Carabao Cup clash on Wednesday. Overall a tough week for  Fabian Hurzeler’s side.

However, Leeds fans will take heart from the fact that their rivals will be missing several players in their clash, with three names are confirmed to be out of the fixture.

Winger Solly March, who remains sidelined with a long-term knee injury. Its reported it can keep him our for the rest of the year. Defender Adam Webster, as he recovers from his knee surgery. Lastly Jack Hinshelwood the England U21 defender who is out with an ankle problem.

Other injuries and a return

Kaoru Mitoma is arguably one of Brighton’s brightest stars. Therefore his absence was felt during his side’s defeat to Manchester United. He could be resuming training this week but is certainly not ready to jump back in.

Joel Veltman, the veteran defender is back to light training. However his match fitness raises doubts. Meanwhile Brajan Gruda still remains a question after picking up an issue on international duty.

Despite all the absentees Leeds fans will be reunited with a former man. Georginio Rutter will be back at Elland Road after leaving the club at the end of the 2023/24 season. The Frenchman had joined the club during the Marcelo Bielsa era and stayed on for one and a half years.

The Whites’ failure to get themselves back into the Premier League triggered his transfer. Joining for a reported fee of £40 million. A club record for Brighton.
