Leeds’ American midfielder Brenden Aaronson has reportedly raked in overseas interest. The USA international was expected to be sold alongside other loanees who were away from Elland Road last season. Surprisingly, only four have left permanently with two on loan while Aaronson and Max Wöber are back at Leeds United.
Sky Sports Germany Reporter Florian Plettenberg claimed on X that The Whites have inquiries from abroad regarding the 23-year-old midfielder. The German also claims that Aaronson is expected to stay unless anything extraordinary occurs. Brenden has just returned from a loan in Germany where he gained valuable experience playing in the Bundesliga and the Champions League.
“Brenden Aaronson, he has inquiries from abroad but the 23 y/o midfielder is likely to stay at Leeds this season! If nothing extraordinary happens, he won’t transfer in August. He’s very motivated to play a top season with LUFC to help getting promoted to the Premier League. Contract valid until 2027.”

Financial difficulties have seen the West Yorkshire outfit go on a selling spree to balance the books. The Whites dealt with this by sending players on loan last season expecting to gain back promotion the the English top-flight. Failure to do so has put the club in a tough situation in regards to finances.
Recent departures and Aaronson’s place at Leeds United
The official announcement of Crysencio Summerville’s departure was a hard one for The Whites. Crysencio scored 21 goals and contributed 10 assists in all competitions for the West Yorkshire outfit. He also won the 2023/24 EFL Championship Player of the Season.
Leeds United have been scouring the market to find Summerville’s replacement. Many suggest that Gnonto can be the perfect replacement for the Dutchman. The Italian winger is already a White and can also play down the left wing. Wilfried can indeed be the cheapest option for Leeds but sources in Italy claim that the Italian wants out following a failed promotion campaign.
This leaves Morgan Whittaker and Sontje Hansen whom The Whites have been on the lookout to replace Crysencio. However, Leeds will have to do thorough calculations before making a move in the transfer market. This is in order to ensure that the club stays under the EFL PSR limits.
Brenden Aaronson is a natural No.1o but Geoginio Rutter has cemented his spot there. This leaves the American a place down left which will mostly be empty if Gnonto leaves making him the perfect successor for the left-wing position.
