Leeds United fans are quite in the dark over what will happen next month when the transfer window opens. All their excitement from the summer window died down after how the club chiefs handled the last few weeks.
They explained that PSR had caused them to miss out on major targets because they could not pay much. This meant that Leeds had to scramble for alternatives late in the window. Despite groans from the fanbase, the club managed to land Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor in addition to Lukas Nmecha who they signed earlier in the summer.
The former Everton man is now the top scorer at the club this season, with his goals firing the team to safety. Calvert-Lewin recently spoke on how he heard the talk about him after he signed a deal at Elland Road.
Leeds United keen on Matias Fernandez-Pardo
Reports suggest that Leeds could spring another surprise in January; with Lille star Matias Fernandez-Paro on their radar. Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur has added that other clubs in England are also interested in a move. Brentford, Wolves and West Ham are currently monitoring the situation involving the 20-year old.
| Competition | Games | Minutes | Goals + Assists |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ligue 1 | 12 | 890 | 5 |
| Europa League | 5 | 240 | 1 |
It is believed Fernandez-Pardo has his sights set on a move to England, but whether Lille are ready to sell is a different topic. The winger has feature 17 times this season, but has mostly been a rotation option off the bench.

Attacking depth is sorely needed
According to FBref, one of the players similar to him is Barcelona star Marcus Rashford. They have similar statistics over the course of the last season and score high in specific metric. On the field, even though he is similar to the Englishman, his still differs quite a lot.
| Statistic | Matias Fernandez (Lille) | Marcus Rashford (Barcelona) |
|---|---|---|
| Goals | 2 | 2 |
| Assists | 3 | 6 |
| Key Passes | 17 | 28 |
| Successful Take-ons | 13 | 18 |
| Fouls Won | 14 | 14 |
He will bring lightning dynamism down the wing with his quick dribbling, but he is yet to develop a killer edge in front of goal. Nonetheless, Leeds have been sorely missing this profile in attack this season. Daniel Farke could do with such a spark plug off the bench when the game calls for it.
