The news out of Elland Road in recent weeks have suggested that Leeds United will be in the market for a striker this summer. Daniel Farke has gone two seasons with Joel Piroe as the main option up top.
Going into next season, Piroe will still be the main striker. But fans have not been pleased with how he has played this season. 19 goals in the Championship is impressive – but how will that translate to the next level. One issue Leeds have had is that there are currently no backups to Piroe that can match his output.

Leeds United eye move for Jamie Vardy
Patrick Bamford and Mateo Joseph combined to score three goals this season. A recent report came out about how sources in the club are not confident in Piroe being good enough for the Premier League.
Leeds United have now been linked with Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy according to Football Insider. The 38-year old is out of contract this summer, and could stay in the Premier League. Reports suggest the Englishman could remain at the top level for a few more years. With Patrick Bamford linked with a move to Wrexham, Joel Piroe could be the only first team striker next season.
A move for the Leicester City striker would be one the club would seriously consider.
Jamie Vardy would be a sensible buy
Jamie Vardy has proved over the last two seasons that age is just a number with him. He made 35 appearances in the Championship last year, and has played 33 league games this season. His age has not shown; eight goals and three assists for Leciester City so far.

Vardy still plays like he did in his prime – he has lost a bit of pace, but his finishing is still clinical. The 38-year old still manages to get on the end of chances, he could be a weapon for the club. Leeds will expect to be pushed back by many teams in the league, so having a profile like Jamie Vardy out top would provide a useful outlet during counter attacks.
He would blend well with the pacy attackers currently at the club.
