Leeds United picked up their second consecutive win with a 2-1 victory over Watford on Tuesday night at Elland Road. The Whites also caught a break with one player avoiding his fifth yellow card.

Leeds started strong, scoring twice in the first 10 minutes. Largie Ramazani got things going in the fourth minute, followed by Brenden Aaronson, who found the net just three minutes later, giving Leeds an early lead.

Watford managed to score shortly after the second half began, but Leeds held firm, securing a 2-1 victory and taking home all three points. After the midweek matches, Leeds is now in third place, tied on 22 points with Burnley, although the Clarets have the advantage on goal differential.

Leeds United ace lucky to avoid fifth yellow card

Joe Rodon and Jayden Bogle both have four yellow cards ahead of the trip to Ashton Gate, but Tony Dorigo says it could have been worse. While commentating on LUTV, he pointed out that Bogle was fortunate not to receive a yellow card

In the 88th minute, Bogle made a reckless challenge against Watford substitute Ken Sema but completely missed both the player and the ball. Fortunately, the tackle went unpunished, and Sema’s cross ended up being a poor one.

“What a weird passage of play,” Tony Dorigo said (h/t LeedsUnited.News). “Bogle had a right swipe at him [Sema], if he connected that would have been his fifth yellow card. The timing of the challenge was awful.”

If the Yorkshire side intend to earn promotion to the Premier League next season, it will all depend on Joseph’s performances this season. Leeds United aim for their third consecutive win as they travel to Ashton Gate to take on ninth-placed Bristol City in the Championship.

The Robins are coming off a 2-2 draw with Stoke City, so Daniel Farke’s side will need to keep up their momentum after two home victories to stay at the top of the table in this closely contested race.

One player who will be out for this clash will be Junior Firpo, who received his fifth yellow card and will be suspended for the match against Bristol City. Therefore, Leeds United will have to make do without a key player on their squad.
