It is now common knowledge that Leeds United bid £7 million for Norwich City winger Jonathan Rowe. This verbal offer however was rejected by The Canaries stating it was too low for their academy graduate.
Later Football Insider reported that Norwich has actually set a price for their English winger. The release fee is reported to be around £15 million which is more than double that of The Whites’ offer.
There is a huge valuation difference between the clubs which doesn’t look like a good start towards the deal. Although Rowe has only one year left on his contract, The Canaries might be ready to risk it for the winger.
The West Yorkshire outfit would want to decide fast regarding their targets. Leeds face Portsmouth on 10th August in their first Championship match of the season.
They’d at least want to get a left winger before they begin their campaign following Crysencio Summerville’s departure. The Dutchman’s sale to West Ham United has left a big dent in the squad.
He was awarded Championship Player of the Season 2023/24 following his impeccable performances for the club. The Dutch winger offered both goals and creativity which helped Leeds throughout their campaign last season.

Leeds United to move for Jesurun Rak-Sakyi if Jonathan Rowe pursuit fails

In a previous tweet, he mentioned fellow Championship club Queen Park Rangers have already made a strong move for the Crystal Palace winger.

Leeds United will have to decide whom to go all in for as soon as possible. Keeping Rak-Sakyi for backup is a great option but by the time their Rowe pursuit fails, Jesurun might be off the market.
The Whites and Norwich are very far off in terms of their valuations. Leeds United would ideally want a deal under £10 million to which The Canaries might disagree.
Who knows where Rak-Sakyi will be by the time Leeds decide to go all-in for the winger? The club might want to reconsider their options and go for someone they can realistically have.
Jesurun is more creative than Jonathan Rowe who seems to be more of a goal scorer than a chance creator. This distinction in their playstyle would make Rak-Sakyi a better Summerville replacement than Rowe.
