Leeds United beat competition to sign Premier League winger, medical completed

Leeds United have reportedly completed the signing of Tottenham Hotspur winger Manor Solomon. The player has signed the deal after completing a medical today per Fabrizio Romano.

Solomon will be the latest addition to Leeds United after Almeria forward Largie Ramazani joined last week. Leeds boss Daniel Farke is looking for more additions as the transfer window is set to close this week. Solomon has put pen to paper after completing his medical. Fabrizio Romano also revealed that Leeds fought off a Dutch club to complete the signing of Solomon, via his account on X.

The Whites are unbeaten in their start to the Championship season, with two draws and one win against Sheffield United.

Manor Solomon adds depth to the Leeds United attack

After losing Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville to Premier League rivals this summer, the only senior team attackers at Elland Road are Patrick Bamford, Joel Piroe, Dan James and Wilfried Gnonto.

Daniel Farke voiced his concern over the attacking depth in the squad, and Leeds United are addressing this. Signing Ramazani from Almeria was a solid addition to the team.

Reports claim that Leeds are pursuing a deal for Burnley winger Manuel Benson. The addition of Manor Solomon would mean the team sees three new attackers added before the Whites’ game against Hull City this weekend.

Spurs did not stand in the way of Solomon deal

Ange Postecoglou said that Tottenham Hotspurs are still active in the transfer window, and are busy trying to conclude business before the end of the window. The Spurs boss spoke to the media and revealed that players will depart the club this week:

“Yeah, look probably a couple more will go out, but we’ve done a fair bit of work over the last 12 months in terms of the squad.”

“As much as the focus has been on getting guys in, we’ve changed the squad a fair bit, brought down the demographic a fair way. We’ve brought in footballers who are more better suited to play the football we want to play moving forwards. So, there has been a lot of work done in that area from our perspective, but with a week to go there is still a little bit to do.”

The arrival of French youngster Wilson Odobert at Spurs also signaled the exit of Solomon as the 19-year old was brought in to compete with the first team. Postecoglou is a big fan of the player who just arrived from Burnley:

“I really like the way he plays in the wide areas. He’s different to our other wingers. He’s a dribbler, he likes to get into the front third. He can play either side, he can play central. He’s had a really good development if you look at his trajectory from PSG as a youngster to Troyes, playing in Ligue 1, and France and Premier League football before the age of 19. I think he ticked all the boxes for us and he’s a fantastic young bloke as well, so really happy to get him in.”
