Leeds United are set to take on Plymouth Argyle next Saturday, but Wayne Rooney’s team are already facing another setback that could impact their chances of a good result at Elland Road.
After enjoying two consecutive home victories following the FIFA international break, Leeds struggled to find the back of the net in a scoreless draw against Bristol City on Saturday at Ashton Gate Stadium.
The Whites had previously secured a 2-0 win over Sheffield United and a 2-1 victory over Watford at Elland Road. With these results, Daniel Farke’s side aimed to carry their momentum on the road against mid-table Bristol City.
Plymouth Argyle are also coming off a draw, but their contest finished 3-3 against Preston, so they’ll look to carry this goal-scoring form into their match against Leeds United. Moreover, the visitors will be without a key player in their attack

Plymouth finds themselves just outside the relegation zone and hasn’t had much to celebrate this season. If the league ended today, they would finish in 21st place.
Their best moment came at the end of September when they defeated Luton Town 3-1 under the Friday night lights at Home Park. Summer signing Ibrahim Cissoko scored twice in that match, but Rooney won’t have him available for the upcoming game at Elland Road.
Cissoko received a straight red card for violent conduct during their 5-0 defeat to Cardiff City a couple of weeks ago, meaning their trip to Leeds will mark the final match of his three-game suspension.
He and Morgan Whittaker are Plymouth’s top scorers in the Championship this season, each with three goals, so his absence will be significant. In his place against Preston North End last time out, Frederick Issaka stepped up and found the net in a thrilling 3-3 comeback draw.
This is another setback for the struggling squad, who will be without defender Lewis Gibson for this Saturday’s away game against Leeds United. Gibson is likely to miss the match due to a thigh injury that sidelined him during their 3-3 draw with Preston North End at Home Park.
