Leeds United boosted as Daniel Farke receives ‘huge’ backing – Premier League path laid out

Since Leeds United won the Championship, Daniel Farke has continuously been in the news for some reason. Instead of the players and fans focusing on next season, they are just distracted by the headlines.

Farke has done a great job since he was hired in 2023. 49ers Enterprises put him in charge to take Leeds back to the top flight. He almost achieved this in his first season, but lost the playoff final to Southampton last summer. Despite losing key players this season, the Whites managed to win the league title – hitting a 100 points and scoring 95 goals.

However, a week has not gone by since the title win without a new coach being linked to the Leeds job. Reports emerged that claimed the 49ers were keen to replace Farke with a new coach for the Premier League.

Jose Mourinho and Bo Henriksen are some of the names that have been mentioned in the last month. Just this week, reports from Spain claimed that Real Madrid legend Raul Gonzalez had been offered a deal at Elland Road.

Former Manchester United star Lee Sharpe has recently spoken out in support of Daniel Farke’s position at Leeds United:

“For the time being, I don’t think Leeds will look to move on from Daniel Farke,” (quotes via Leeds Live).

“He’ll definitely be under pressure and depending on where the club is after the first few months of the Premier League. I’d love to see him have a go – he’s done a fantastic job to get them up. I’m sure he’d have learned from his experience of being in relegation battles.”

49ers have to come out to support Daniel Farke again

It took a while before Paraag Marathe came out to address the team over Farke’s future. But it looks like he will need to do it again after recent news surfaced.

This is not the time for Leeds to be distracted by manager rumours when they are preparing for the Premier League. The least the club can do is release a statement.
