Leeds United boss Daniel Farke could hand the club massive advantage in race for England star – would be available for £10M

There was a major turning point before this season started for Leeds United. After the club lost a whole host of players in the summer, they sought out to make some additions before the window closed.

It took a flurry of late activity to get some new faces in. But Leeds boss Daniel Farke played a key part in some signings. It was widely publicised that he was instrumental in brining Ao Tanaka to England. The Japanese international has been a revelation, and played a key role in the title win this season.

Not a lot of people know that Farke also played a huge part in signing Manor Solomon. The Spurs loanee admitted it in a recent interview:

“Daniel was one of the decisions [sic] why I joined Leeds, so definitely it could be one of the reasons why I will join Leeds in the summer, why or not,”

“We always had conversations and he wanted to help me to achieve my best. So I can say that he has a lot of credit for the season that I’ve had.”

Leeds club chairman Paraag Marathe mentioned that Daniel Farke will be key in recruitment this summer. Fans will hope he can repeat the transfer window that saw them win the league this year.

One of his first targets could be a former player of his. According to Football Espana, Leeds and Sheffield United are set to be the main contenders to sign Max Aarons. The defender fell out of favour at Bournemouth and has been on loan in Spain with Valencia this season. Aarons is said to be willing to find a move this summer, with the Cherries valuing him around £10-13million.

Leeds will hope a reunion with his former Norwich City boss may be incentive to arrive at Elland Road.

Max Aarons is a necessary piece

With Sam Byram, and possibly Junior Firpo, set to leave at the end of their contracts, Leeds will be without two first team defenders. The fullback role would need depth, and Aarons has shown versatility in his career. The 25-year old can play both flanks, and even as a winger.

Leeds could fill two needs with one signing when it comes to signing Max Aarons this summer.
