Leeds United won the Championship on the final day of the season after beating Plymouth. It was the perfect end to the campaign after winning promotion, and reaching a 100 points.
Daniel Farke played a major part in the club’s success this season in more ways than one. On the field, he managed to get this Leeds side to the Premier League. Many fans and pundits had doubts over the club after they lost three of their best players last summer. Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter played a big part last season, but were poached quickly by Premier League clubs.
Despite all this, the Whites managed to win the league and gain promotion despite lacking quality in some areas of the team.

Farke also played a big part in the transfer market. He was instrumental behind the signing of Ao Tanaka, who has played a big role for Leeds this season. Manor Solomon also stated that Daniel Farke was one of the biggest reasons why he joined Leeds United this season.
Club chairman Paraag Marathe addressed the fans on Sunday after the trophy celebrations on Saturday. He said a lot of things about the future, but the main talking point was him backing Daniel Farke to be Leeds coach next season. It seems the 49ers are fully behind the German coach now. The club is set to take it a step further this summer, as Marathe revealed that Farke will play a huge part in the transfer decisions in the upcoming window:
“If there was a player that Daniel didn’t want, we didn’t bring him in, if there was a player that didn’t fit us for other reasons, we didn’t bring him in,” Marathe said (via YEP).
“And so we’re going to work in the same way.
“We’re going to work very collaboratively, probably a little bit with a little bit more focus on making sure we’re making the right group decisions, because, let’s be honest, there’s more at stake now, more money, more jeopardy.”
Should Farke play a major role in transfers?
Handing the coach major influence in decision making could sometimes be a bad thing. Even though Farke’s recommendations have paid off, who is to say they will also work in the Premier League? Does the club trust Daniel Farke to recruit players at a higher level?
A lot of questions need to be asked, but for now it is ideal for the recruitment team to have a more collaborative say than handing all the decision making to Farke.
