Leeds United coach Daniel Farke says the club’s 2-1 win over Plymouth on Saturday was the perfect result.
Two early first half goals from Joel Piroe and Daniel James were enough to seal all three points even thought Plymouth made a late charge in the second half. The win makes it five on the bounce for the Whites at Elland Road.
Daniel Farke says he was delighted at the result:
“I take this all day long. If you offered me a 2-1 win before the game I would have signed it. I was really concerned today, after a spotlight win, lots of praise, the training week was really good. My gut feeling was it was too easy. Normally you get a sucker punch. Pleaed with these priceless three points.
Perfect result. Once you are so dominant like we were, you speak about the chances in the second, you would have wished to score six to seven goals. Then we don’t have to fight until the last second. In many ways, excellent after the break.
Piroe and Rutter had chances. Gnonto has a one vs one. Anthony had a big chance. Normally score in the second half three or four goals. Good and brave opponent playing with freedom and confidence. Our defending was excellent. We allowed them one chance in the second half when we defended the channel a little late. They were clinical and effective with one chance.
Brought a tight lead over the line. Did not allow them another chance. We made our life more complicated than it should have been after so many chances. Compliments for the performance and priceless points.”
