Leeds United’s brilliant decision boosts Premier League hopes

Leeds United secured a 2-1 win over Watford on Tuesday night at Elland Road, marking their second straight victory. However, Brenden Aaronson has been facing some criticism despite the team’s success, but one pundit is coming in to praise the player.

After Leeds was relegated from the Premier League in 2023, Aaronson didn’t play in the club’s first season in the Championship, during which they fell short of promotion by losing the Championship Play-off Final to Southampton.

While on loan at Union Berlin, Aaronson made 38 appearances, scoring two goals and adding two assists. His time there was short-lived, as he returned to Leeds after the 2023-24 season.

Now back with Leeds, the USMNT player is determined to turn things around and become an important part of the team as they strive for promotion to the Premier League next season.

“It is tough sometimes in moments, mentally and physically,” Aaronson told Sky Sports in September. “I have the drive; I know what I want to do this season. I knew I needed to come in and show my worth and show how good I can be. Coming in, I had to be confident and that is what I have tried to be. It is not easy but it has been made easier with the teammates and the coaching staff we have here.”

Premier League hopes could become a reality due to Brenden Aaronson

Despite facing criticism, not all pundits are harsh on Leeds United’s attacking player. Carlton Palmer thinks it was a “good call” by Leeds United and Daniel Farke to reintegrate Brenden Aaronson into the squad this season.

“One of those players who’s having a resurgence under Farke is Brenden Aaronson,” Palmer told Football League Word. “I think it’s the biggest storyline in the Championship this season.

“He’s now got three goals and an assist in 11 matches for Leeds United. Credit to Daniel Farke for keeping him in the mix and not offloading him in the summer. It’s now looking a good call for Leeds United.”

Aaronson needs to keep proving he’s the No. 10 for this team, showing that Leeds United won’t need to look for a new one when the January transfer window opens.
