Leeds United are now facing a battle to keep hold of 16-year-old striker Harry Gray from the clutches of Premier League clubs. The teenage prodigy, who hails from the illustrious Gray family, is one of the shiniest gems in the Leeds academy but the Whites are facing the prospect of losing him in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Archie Gray was one of the brightest young talents who emerged from the Leeds academy and was one of the best players in Daniel Farke’s team last season.
However, once Leeds failed to get promoted it became an inevitability that he would move on and Tottenham paid upwards of ÂŁ40m to sign him in the last summer transfer window.
At least Leeds got to enjoy him being a regular first-team player but the Whites are facing the prospect of losing his brother Harry even before he breaks into the first-team properly.
Three Premier League clubs are chasing the young Leeds United forward
Harry is a prolific goalscorer at the youth level and has even trained with the first team without actually making his debut for Leeds.
Daniel Farke has resisted playing him despite his problems up front this season as Leeds want to be super careful about his development in the coming years.
However, according to TBR Football, Leeds are now facing a fight to keep hold of him as three Premier League clubs are interested in getting their hands on him.
Tottenham have been keeping tabs on the teenager and want to reunite him with brother Archie, which could be a tempting prospect for the young striker.
However, Spurs will not get a clear run at the forward as Arsenal and Newcastle are also interested in snaring Harry away from Leeds in the summer.
But Leeds remain calm about the situation and are confident of keeping him despite their inability to offer him a professional contract until he turns 17 in October.
Leeds must convince Harry and his family to stay
The Gray family have been responsible for contributing players to Leeds across generations and have been intrinsically linked with the club.
Archie’s decision to leave Leeds last summer was not taken lightly and the club will hope that they see a future for Harry at Elland Road moving forward.
Can you name the missing sponsor on these 10 Leeds United shirts?
They are known for being deliberate and are unlikely to want to uproot Harry from Leeds this early in his career given their love for the club.
However, Tottenham’s interest might complicate things as it offers Harry a chance to reunite with Arche in London next summer
Leeds should move quickly to convince Harry to agree to a pre-contract before his 17th birthday and remove the uncertainty ahead of the next transfer window.
