Leeds United confirm major doubt for Friday night’s game – star man could miss Oxford United clash

Leeds United

Leeds United ended this weekend with a huge boost as they took a step towards promotion. Their future lies in their hands as four games remain to confirm their place in the Premier League.

Daniel Farke’s men could breathe a huge sigh of relief after Saturday. Sheffield United suffered a shock loss to bottom placed Plymouth, while Leeds beat Preston to strengthen their grip on the automatic promotion place. Goals from Manor Solomon and Jayden Bogle in the first half were enough to see out the game.

With four games to go, Opta’s supercomputer has predicted that the Whites will win the league title.

Up next for Daniel Farke’s men is Oxford United. The U’s secured a vital win over the weekend as they continue to fight to survive in the Championship. Gary Rowett’s side scraped a 1-0 win away from home to go six points clear of the relegation zone.

Ahead of this Friday night fixture, Daniel Farke has given an update on Dan James’ injury:

“It will definitely be a tight race for him [Dan James] and Joe Rothwell for the Easter weekend at the moment. Perhaps, even a little bit more realistic that they will be available for after the Easter weekend.”

James pulled up in the win over Middlesbrough and sat out the game against Preston. This weekend might come too soon for the winger.

Dan James is a vital part of the attack this season

The Welshman has taken over the attack this season. He has played more of a greater role in scoring and providing assists than he did last season.

Leeds will hope to have him back soon. Even if he is half fit for these crucial upcoming games, he can still have an impact in the box.
