In recent weeks it’s been widely rumoured that Leeds United goalkeeper Kiko Casilla is on his way out of Elland Road and today it’s been confirmed.
The Spanish keeper is headed back to Spain to join La Liga side Elche CF on loan until the end of the season. It’s not been the dream Yorkshire stint many had hoped for from the former Real Madrid keeper. Despite his 62 appearances for the club, the Spaniard may be best remembered for his lengthy suspension following a racism charge and some of his infamous blunders.
That said, he played his part in Leeds’ accession to the Premier League making over 30 appearances in their successful 2019/20 campaign.
He now heads to pastures new and could very well have played his last game for Leeds.
