Leeds United completed their eighth signing of the summer on Friday. This came after Daniel Farke made a plea to the club to sign some reinforcements in attack.
It had become a clear patter in pre-season, Leeds were able to hold back opponents, but goal scoring was an issue. The Whites signed Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the hopes of boosting their depth up top.
Much has been said about the former Everton man, but according to Daniel Farke, Calvert-Lewin is a welcomed arrival at Elland Road:
”Dominic is a proven Premier League player. Its important for all new signings, we want to sign players who have delivered on a top level, but they are also in a good age, on their way up the hill, not the way down. These boxes are all ticked by Dominic.”

Leeds United could complete three deals in the coming weeks

At the start of the month, there were reports that there could be more than one signing. A winger and a number 10 were reportedly on the shortlist. Leeds transfer insider Graeme Bailey has confirmed that the club could make up to three more additions before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
“I’d still be surprised if Leeds didn’t do another forward. I honestly think Leeds could do another three forwards.
“You could do another versatile striker, a winger, and someone that can play in a few of the attacking positions. [Noah] Okafor, Solomon, and a no.10? Yeah, I could really see that.” he told Leeds United News.
What Daniel Farke has said about transfers
In Friday’s press conference, the Leeds boss urged the club to bring in a few new faces in the attack, even after the signing of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
”There is no doubt we need reinforcements, especially in the offence. Dominic can’t be the only step. We are on a good path, prepared for the first games and I hope when the transfer window is over we have a squad who is capable of fighting for being the first team who breaks this curse because we have one clear target to stay in this league.”
