Leeds United could face competition from Manchester United for major signing

Leeds United could find themselves in a tough race as they seek to secure a transfer target in January.

The recruitment from Leeds in the summer is still being questioned after how some of the signings have turned out. Even though the club currently sit top of the Championship, there are quite a few issues that still need to be solved in January. Leeds beat Swansea City in their first game back from the international break.

This time around, Daniel Farke got his key players back fully rested in time for the game. Brenden Aaronson was the only one with an issue during the international break. Leeds scored a late winner to steal all three points from the Swansea stadium on Sunday.

Manor Solomon, one of the summer signings, scored a brace in a crucial win for the team. Solomon had been in and out of the team after a bright start to the season. Daniel Farke handed him a start on Sunday, and the spurs loanee delivered.

Some other summer signings have delivered this season. Jayden Bogle, Joe Rodon, Largie Ramazani, Joe Rothwell and Ao Tanaka have been solid additions. Rodon continued his great form from last season, and Jayden Bogle has made the right back spot his own. Rothwell and Tanaka have formed a solid midfield partnership, after Daniel Farke lost two key players last month. Ethan Ampadu and Illia Gruev both picked up serious knee injuries at the end of September.

Daniel Farke could be set to add another huge signing to the Leeds United squad soon. The Whites have targeted FC Nordsjaelland Daniel Svensson. The 22-year old fullback is one of the best in the Danish Superliga; Svensson finished last season with the second highest number of assists. The left back has also caught the eye of Liverpool, Manchester United and Juventus in recent years according to Fotboll Direkt.

Svensson is the perfect signing for Leeds

The Swedish international has all the tools of a modern left back. Svensson would be a perfect fit in Daniel Farke’s system. He would also be a direct replacement for Junior Firpo, who is set to leave Elland Road. Svensson would be a huge coup, as his ability to attack and defend at a high level is among the best in Europe.
