Leeds United seem to be preparing for the departure of some players this summer. Before the transfer window opened, the club were set to hold talks with two players.
Sam Byram and Junior Firpo. The last update was that Firpo had a new contract offer on the table, and that the ball is in his court. The 28-year old has been heavily linked with moves to clubs across Europe. Lazio, Lyon and AC Milan seem to be leading the pack so far. If Firpo departs, the club will surely be in the market for a new left back.
Earlier this week, Alex Crook reported that Leeds are monitoring Aston Villa left back Alex Moreno. According to the details, the Whites have made an official enquiry for the player.

The 32-year old spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest, making 15 Premier League appearances. He returned to Villa after his loan deal ended. The report from Alex Crook suggests that Unai Emery’s side could be open to a deal for the left back. A £5million fee has been rumoured, as Burnley and a host of La Liga clubs are interested.
But according to Graeme Bailey, there is a potential stumbling block to a deal. Bailey suggests that the Spaniard’s wages could be a problem for Leeds:
“I’d be surprised, he isn’t on small money,” he told Leeds United News.
“I’d be surprised, but Leeds are getting offered so many players, I’m told.
“More than most clubs. It’s very hard to see the wood from the trees.”
There is no confirmed reports about his wages, but Estadio Deportivo revealed that Moreno’s move to England tripled his salary he was earning at Real Betis.
Leeds might need to back off from Moreno deal
Looking at the whole situation, it is quite clear that Aston Villa want to offload Moreno’s wages. He was loaned to Nottingham Forest last season for the same reason.
Outside all this, signing a 32-year old on huge wages is not ideal for Leeds United. Especially at time where the club needs to watch their expenditure.
