It has become clear that Leeds United boss Daniel Farke is looking for some firepower this summer. The club needs some quality in attack heading into next season.
The two major targets so far seem to be Jamie Vardy and Callum Wilson – two goalscorers with Premier League experience. Wilson is set to discuss a move with the Magpies this summer, and Leeds are keenly monitoring the situation.
But it now looks like the Whites could make a double swoop from St. James’ Park.

Leeds could also move for Sean Longstaff. The midfielder has been linked over the last month, but it looks like a move could be on the cards.
PSR could play a huge role, as Newcastle could sell him for profit to boost their accounts for this year. The Magpies were forced into making some deals last summer, and would not want a repeat for that.
Longstaff has been heading towards an exit after his playing time reduced this season. Eddie Howe even mentioned that the midfielder would decide his own future this summer:
“But Sean is motivated. He has been brilliant behind the scenes, he is training well and he’s got undoubted qualities. He also has a contract for next year.
“The control is very much in his hands as to what he wants to do for his long-term future. And we are certainly delighted to have him.”
Daniel Farke keen on adding steel in the midfield
From the recent transfer links, it looks like Leeds want to add some legs in the midfield. Players that can play box to box – defend and offer a goal threat in the middle of the park. It is something that the current crop of midfielders do not excel in. They each have significant quality on the ball, and in passing and creating, but it looks like Farke wants some cutting edge and physicality.
Soucek and Longstaff can provide this. Leeds would improve their midfield with this signing.
