Daniel Farke knows that fullbacks are an important part of his Leeds United team. Last season, both fullbacks contributed greatly to the attack.
There was a reason why the Leeds boss pushed to sign Jayden Bogle early in the summer window. Bogle ended up having six goals and four assists, while Firpo contributed four goals and 10 assists. The duo were a big part of why the club managed to score 95 goals in the Championship despite being light on attacking options.
Going into next season, there could be a bit of a problem at the club.

There are currently two first team fullbacks under contract; Jayden Bogle and Isaac Schmidt. Sam Byram and Junior Firpo could leave on free transfers at the end of the month. Leeds reportedly held contract talks with the duo, and gave a new deal to Firpo, but nothing has materialized. The 28-year old is reportedly off to Spain to sign for Real Betis.
Leeds are in the market for a new left back, with Aston Villa’s Alex Moreno being linked. Reports claim that there has been contact with the Spaniard. Marca are reporting that Leeds are keen on a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers star Hugo Bueno. The left back spent last season on loan at Feyenoord, where he impressed.
Bueno is reportedly on the Whites’ shortlist this summer. The defender is currently with Mateo Joseph and the Spain U21 team at the European Championships.
Hugo Bueno could be the solution
Bueno fits the profile Leeds could be looking for; young, with some experience and loves to attack. The left back ranked highly in the Eredivisie for chances created and successful crosses.

He could be exactly what Leeds United need. A perfect replacement for Junior Firpo, with his ability to fly up and down the flanks. Daniel Farke could have another weapon if the deal goes through.
