Leeds United boss Daniel Farke made a shock decision this week. He made it know to the public that Patrick Bamford was not in his plans for the upcoming season.
Many expected the striker to be a part of pre-season, but his absence from the squad in Stockholm raised a lot of eyebrows. Farke revealed that he had a private conversation with Bamford after making the decision.
”I had a really open and honest conversation with him. Patrick knows how much I value him as a player.
He knows how much I rate him as a person so I felt it was my duty to have a very open and honest conversation right now straight away.
Second day of pre-season I told him he wasn’t in my plans for the Premier League season due to the fact he had difficult years in the last years.”

Leeds United could help Wrexham seal Patrick Bamford move

Wrexham had been linked with a move for Bamford early in June. But a club executive came out to shut down the rumours.
But it looks like the newly-promoted Championship team could be back in the race. However, it would need some involvement from Leeds when it came to Bamford’s contract and wages.
Graeme Bailey had this to say on the matter, and if Bamford to Wrexham is possible.
“Maybe, it depends. His wages are very high and his wages have gone back to Premier League level now.” he told The Wrexham Insider.
“So Leeds are going to have to pull some sort of deal off to supplement that, to pay him off. It’s going to be very expensive.
“There is MLS interest in him, but yeah, Leeds are going to have to help with that deal. If they don’t help, he’ll stay. Let’s see…”
Replacement could be on the way
Leeds are already in the market to sign a new striker.
With Bamford probably moving at the end of the month, and the situation surrounding Mateo Joseph, a new face will definitely be arriving. The club already added Lukas Nmecha to the squad at the start of the transfer window.

Leeds United are adamant that they will keep the Spaniard. Even though he has asked for a transfer, there has been no concrete offer from any club so far. Joseph will remain in the UK and could train with the U21 side if he chooses to. But there is also a chance he could force a move away, as Real Betis remain keen on a deal.
