Leeds United could still pull off late deal as 18-goal midfielder is on the radar

Leeds United fans were full of hope and optimism ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline. The club were expecting reinforcements after Daniel Farke mentioned that the team still needed reinforcements.

The first four games in the season have been mixed for the Whites – the win against Everton being their best moment. Their lowest moment so far was the shocking cup exit to Sheffield Wednesday. A battering at the hands of Arsenal was a close second.

But in the midst of all the noise, the team showed up to Elland Road this past weekend and shutout a Newcastle team that managed to score two goals against title holders Liverpool. Two clean sheets and four points in the first three league games is a very positive start for the team, however, deadline day soured the whole experience.

Leeds United could still sign free agent star

Over the weekend, Leeds were assessing possible moves for targets they had on their list this summer. Dilane Bakwa, Gus Hamer and Bilal El Khannouss were all being looked at. But for some reason, the club chose to go a different route hours before the deadline.

Leeds entered talks with Fulham for a move for Harry Wilson. The Whites had a loan bid rejected initially, before submitting a proposal for a permanent deal. But the deal fell through at the last minute, leaving the club with no major signing at the deadline.

There is still some hope that Leeds can bring in new faces after the window closes, as the free agent market is still open. Graham Smyth has mentioned Josh Brownhill as a name that could arrive at Elland Road this week. The midfielder is still a free agent after leaving Burnley, and reportedly turned down a move to Leicester City on Monday.

Leeds could do with a goalscoring midfielder

Brownhill managed 18 league goals last season, this could prove useful for the Leeds United team. The current crop of midfielders all excel defensively, and can control games. But they lack an attacking edge. With Daniel Farke needing some firepower up front, Brownhill could be the perfect option.

49’s complete Liars, never to be trusted again. All mouth and trousers.49s Ostrich mentality are now avoiding making comments – Fulham would have accepted 9-10 million for Wilson, But dead wood, underwood refused more than £7 million and arrogantly thought he made an offer Fulham could not refuse ……. pathetic fictitious Godfather mentality. From what this suggests other transfers failed in part by making offers than were too low to be accepted by other clubs. Good Luck Sunderland … your lot got it right!
