Leeds United now have a fairly good idea of what to do with their squad as of the past few days. Now that most of the competitions in the country are done, the respective retained lists have been published.
Leeds now know which players are on their way out, and which ones have returned from loan. There seems to be one big area of the squad that would need some revamping when the summer window opens. The Whites will hold talks with Junior Firpo and Sam Byram over new deals soon.
But in the case of Firpo, there is a very slim chance he stays in West Yorkshire. The 28-year old has been linked with a move to AC Milan this summer.

Leeds United target new fullback

If both Firpo and Byram leave the club, there are only two first team options left at fullback – Jayden Bogle and Isaac Schmidt. This is very thin depth heading into the summer. But as of the past few days it looks like there are plans to address the positions. Liverpool’s Kostas Tsimikas, and former West Ham star Aaron Cresswell have been linked.
Daniel Farke could be set to add some depth at right back soon. Ben Jacobs has reported that Leeds are one of many clubs interested in signing Nelson Semedo this summer. The former Wolves man is set to leave the club this summer.
In his goodbye post on Instagram, he revealed that he will take a ”big decision” on his future soon:
“We accomplished the main objective but we have to set our ambitions as a club and go fight for them cause trust me, all together we can do it. Time to rest, think and take a big decision with my family.”
Saudi clubs have also reportedly lined up lucrative offers for the 31-year old.
Semedo would be a quality addition
Nelson Semedo comes with a lot experience in the Premier League. He would also complement Jayden Bogle well. Semedo is more of a defensive minded fullback, while Bogle is a more attacking option. The 31-year old’s versatility also saw him play in a back three this season, which could offer more tactical solutions for Daniel Farke.
