Turkish giants Galatasaray are discussing doing a deal to sign Leeds United defender Max Wober on loan with an option to buy ahead of the Turkish transfer deadline on Friday.
Wober has only featured in the EFL Cup defeat to Middlesbrough for Leeds this season and is yet to play in a Championship game for the Whites.
The defender is prepared to wait for his chance but is said to be struggling with calf and knee problems at the moment, which hampered him during the international break.
The Austrian is unlikely to start against Burnley on Saturday and there is a chance he might not be at Leeds when the Clarets come to town at Elland Road this weekend.
Galatasaray showing loan interest in the Leeds United defender
The Turkish giants are keen to bring in a centre-back before the transfer window in Turkey closes on Friday night and according to Takvim, Wober has emerged as a target.
Galatasaray have carried out checks on the Austrian and have made enquiries into the possibility of signing the centre-back this week.
The Turkish giants have taken information on the potential costs of doing a deal and are now discussing taking him to Galatasaray ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.
Galatasaray are interested in getting their hands on Wober on an initial loan deal with an option to buy.
Daniel Farke is unlikely to be too pleased about late interest in the Austrian and is not expected to sanction a move given he has no chance of securing a replacement.
Wober has also sounded positive about staying at Leeds after spending last season on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach.
The defender recently stressed that Leeds are the best team on paper and is keen to help them get promoted back to the Premier League.
Galatasaray are not likely to succeed in trying to sign the Austria international defender if they decide to make a concrete offer for the player to Leeds ahead of Friday’s deadline.
