Leeds United have very little margin for error in the Premier League survival race, especially after this week’s results dragged them back within touching distance of the relegation zone.
West Ham’s victory over Fulham and Nottingham Forest’s draw with Manchester City on Wednesday night have made the battle to stay up even tighter.
Leeds did themselves no favours either, suffering a home defeat to Sunderland on Tuesday. As things stand, they sit just three points above the relegation places with nine games left to play in the Premier League season.
West Ham’s resurgence is a big problem for Leeds, and with the Whites back in the mix, Jarrod Bowen has fired a warning at all the clubs in and around the Hammers.
West Ham star fires warning as Leeds United become wary again
Former Leeds star Crysencio Summerville scored the winner at Craven Cottage on Wednesday night to reignite West Ham’s hopes in the relegation battle.
The Hammers are now in the relegation zone only because of an inferior goal difference to Nottingham Forest and are three points behind Leeds.
The Whites have found the worst possible time to lose back-to-back Premier League games, and are looking over their shoulders again in the battle to survive.
Bowen has provided a picture of real confidence inside the West Ham dressing room and is convinced that the Hammers are going to get out of trouble.
He insisted that he has confidence in every player in the West Ham squad and their willingness to push the team out of the bottom three by the end of the season.
Asked if West Ham will survive, Bowen said on TNT Sports: “Of course.
“Full confidence in every single person.”
The Whites are in trouble
Leeds have every reason to feel hard done by the referees in the last two defeats against Manchester City and Sunderland, respectively, but those two results have dented their confidence.
A six-point buffer felt comfortable, but a three-point gap now means Leeds’ margin for error has become minimal in the final nine games of the season.

Both West Ham and Forest got unexpected results away from home on Wednesday night, and that has completely changed the outlook at the bottom end of the table.
Leeds are still 15th, but they are no longer secure. Another bad result in the league after their FA Cup adventure could push them further into trouble.
The Whites need a win on the board soon, or they could get dragged back into the bottom three towards the end of the season.
